Attributes of God

All scriptures are taken from NKJV unless otherwise marked.

I’m utterly amazed by God and I love Him so much! Sometimes, I enjoy worshiping Him simply because of who He is. There are many different names of the Lord. He’s way larger than anything we can ever imagine and His love for us is tremendous! Here’s a list of the different attributes of God (as noted in the bible) that we can worship and praise Him with.

Faithful

“If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.”

-2 Timothy 2:13

“Therefore know that the LORD your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments.”

-Deuteronomy 7:9

“O LORD God of hosts, Who is mighty like You, O LORD? Your faithfulness also surrounds You.”

-Psalms 89:8

“Your faithfulness endures to all generations; You established the earth, and it abides.”

-Psalms 119:90

“They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.”

-Lamentations 3:23

“God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.”

-1 Corinthians 1:9

“But God is faithful…”

-2 Corinthians 1:18

“He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.”

-1 Thessalonians 5:24

“Therefore, it was necessary for him to be made in every respect like us, his brothers and sisters, so that he could be our merciful and faithful High Priest before God. Then he could offer a sacrifice that would take away the sins of the people.”

-Hebrews 2:17 NLT

“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.”

-Hebrews 10:23

1 John 1:9 picture

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

-1 John 1:9

Isn’t it life changing to know that the Lord is faithful? When He speaks a word over your life, you can count on Him to bring it to pass.

Patient / Longsuffering

“The Lord is not slack concerning His promises, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.”

-2 Peter 3:9

“Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?”

-Romans 2:4

“But You, O Lord, are a God full of compassion, and gracious, Longsuffering and abundant in mercy and truth.”

-Psalm 86:15

Just

“God did this to demonstrate his righteousness, for he himself is fair and just, and he makes sinners right in his sight when they believe in Jesus.”

-Romans 3:26

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

-1 John 1:9

Love

John 3:16 picture

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

-John 3:16

“He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.”

“I have been crucified with Christ, it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live but faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”

-Galatians 2:20

“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her…”

-Ephesians 5:25

“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this the love of God was manifested toward us that God has sent is only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.”

-1 John 4:7-11

When I learned the Lord loved me, my life was truly never the same again. My whole life I searched and chased for love without knowing Love was chasing me that whole time. I could’ve saved myself from a lot of headaches and wasted time if I would’ve knew God back then. I recommend going to God with every thing that bothers you. Assuredly I say to you, He cares about you and wants to help you. However, you’ve got to draw near to God in order for Him to draw near to you.

Lovingkindness

“How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God!”

-Psalms 36:7

Psalm 63:7 picture

-Jonah 4:2

“The LORD is longsuffering and abundant in mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression; but He by no means clears the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and forth generation.”

Merciful

And the LORD passed before him and proclaimed, “The LORD, the LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children;s children to the third and the forth generation.”

-1 John 1:17

“For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that thought He was rich yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.”

The Lord’s grace is the reason we can go boldly to His throne. We were made right with God by His sacrifice and can live intimately with Him. Jesus is our intercessor and built the bridge to Heaven for us. Without God’s grace, no amount of good work can get us there. Thank God for His amazing grace!

and glorify Your name?

For You alone are holy.

For all nation shall come and worship before You….
