High fructose corn syrup is stealing your health and making you gain weight!
The very first time I learned high fructose corn syrup was bad for you was while reading a book called The Abs Diet by David Zinczenko. In his chapter, “Your Weight Is Not Your Fault,” he covers how HFCS is leading to obesity in the lives of many people.
Before you begin to think that this post doesn’t apply to you because you don’t consume HFCS, let me ask you a few questions. Do you eat ketchup or barbecue sauce? What about Pop-Tarts? Do you enjoy soda? Well, guess what? All of those things are full of high fructose corn syrup. As a matter of fact, once you make the decision to remove HFCS from your home, you will be surprised at how many items have it!

Quitting High Fructose Corn Syrup
Once I learned that this substance is literally killing humans and destroying their bodies along the way, I decided to do something about it. My household will be high fructose corn syrup free! And it is, but it was no easy task to accomplish. I could not believe how many items had HFCS.
But don’t be discouraged! Many people believe that everything has HFCS and that you cannot avoid it, but that’s simply not true! You don’t even have to stop eating your favorite foods! All you have to do is create your own food at home compared to allowing a factory to create your foods for you.
Processed foods are the ones that contain high fructose corn syrup. It’s not a natural substance and was created by man. If you focus on eating natural foods that were created for us to eat, you won’t have to worry about avoiding this substance.
Reasons To Quit Soda Today
Soda was a normal thing in our household. I was raised to love it and we drank it every day. I didn’t make the decision to quit soda until in my twenties. It’s normal to drink soda regularly, isn’t it?
The only issue with soda is it’s incredibly unhealthy for you. (Like WAYY unhealthy!) It leads to many of the health problems we see in our culture today. The darn things are everywhere! You can go anywhere and order a Coke. The drink is also highly addictive. These companies know exactly what they’re doing to push revenues through the roof by ensuring you’ll purchase more in the future. After learning the health effects of consuming this soft drink, I chose to stand up and say, “No more!”
It was incredibly tough for me to stop drinking soda. The more I tried to stop, the more I wanted it. I was caught up in an addiction that I was determined to win. After failing multiple times, my victory finally prevailed. At last, I can say I’m free from carbonated drinks and I’m glad for it. However, many people give me weird looks when I politely decline soda. It makes me feel like an outcast.

Fructose goes right to the liver and triggers lipogenesis, which causes liver damage to 70 million people around the world annually. 
How’s that for an eye-opener? Liver damage is no joke. Unfortunately, it’s only one of the horrible effects of regularly consuming high fructose corn syrup (HFCS). Fructose is sweeter than glucose, which is the substance table sugar is made of. Therefore, by finding a way to incorporate more fructose to sugar is genius! The only problem with this solution is it’s causing massive harm to those who are consuming it.

While sucrose can be digested throughout the whole body, fructose can only be digested in the liver. When a person consumes large amounts of fructose, the liver can become overloaded.
Picture this: You’re at work and your boss is giving you too much work to get done in your shift. You start off fine, but as the final hour approaches, you begin cutting corners and doing things wrong. You begin shoving work in areas for the next shift in hopes your boss won’t find out. The dangers of high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) are a real threat. It can cause heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, and so much more.
